The Zighy Bay Water Initiative System is an outstanding example of environmental responsibility. The resort’s own reverse osmosis (RO) plant and water refinery creates a self-sufficient water supply, with negative carbon footprint impact. Seawater is filtered before passing through the RO plant, with 25 percent being further refined for pure drinking water and other utilities.

The balance is used for the central salt-water swimming pool before being returned to the sea.
