An unforgettable adventure by the hand of Uga Escapes
For 9 days, Berta Dominguez from the Oahsis Consulting team and a select group of professionals have explored the wonders of Sri Lanka, as you all know, a unique destination in Southeast Asia where we have also had the opportunity to learn about the latest news from Uga.
First stop: Anuradhapura, Living History
Sri Lanka is not only landscapes, it is also millenary history. The trip began in Anuradhapura, a sacred site and UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was incomparable to be able to enjoy the majesty of its ancient dagobas and the legendary Bodhi tree, the oldest with historical records, a spectacular start to connect with the roots of this captivating country!
The first hotel we stayed at was Uga Ulagalla, the perfect fusion of luxury and sustainability. Located in the middle of a nature reserve, Ulagalla offers an intimate retreat in villas surrounded by greenery.
Imagine a perfect day, enjoying a relaxing swim in your private pool followed by a lovely bike ride, and the Nachchaduwa experience, an exclusive picnic in the middle of nature overlooking the sunset, ending with a fantastic Kamatha dinner, a special encounter with local cuisine. This resort is a sanctuary for travelers seeking disconnection from the world while enjoying impeccable service and an experience in harmony with nature.
Sigiriya, the lion’s rock
We moved on to action by climbing to the top of Sigiriya, where the panoramic views of the tropical landscape are just spectacular. It is not only impressive for its history, but for its mysticism and the physical challenge of the climb, making it a must-see stop for any traveler exploring Sri Lanka.
Visit to the sea in Kalkudah: Paradise on the East Coast
From history to tranquility. At Kalkudah, participants enjoyed the pristine beaches and unparalleled luxury of Uga Bay, a property that combines the serenity of the sea with the elegance and comfort of a world-class resort. This was the ideal place to relax, recharge and soak up the incomparable views of the Indian Ocean.
Adventure in Haputale: Nature at its Maximum Expression
The trip continued to Haputale, an enchanting corner where nature takes center stage. We took a spectacular tuktuk ride to Lipton’s Seat, the viewpoint with the best panoramic views of the area where it feels like you can practically touch the clouds.
Safari in Yala
One of the most exciting moments was undoubtedly the safari in Yala National Park, home to Sri Lanka’s majestic leopards and elephants. Agents embarked on an up-close experience with the country’s native wildlife, enjoying the incredible biodiversity that makes Yala such a special place.
Uga Chena Huts, a boutique resort that redefines the concept of wilderness lodging, was our home for one night. Located in an unspoiled environment between the jungle and the beach, it offers exclusive cabins with absolute privacy, all equipped with their own pool. This enclave was the perfect retreat for travelers after a day of adventure, providing an immersive luxury experience in the wild Sri Lankan wilderness.
Perfect Closing in Negombo: Luxury and Relaxation
To end this magical journey, the agents enjoyed a stay in Negombo, where Uga Riva took center stage. This property on the west coast combines thoughtful design with a focus on the cozy comfort of home. The rooms are designed to reflect the calm and serenity of the surroundings, with very easy access to make arrivals or departures from Colombo more comfortable.
Once again, the beauty and richness of this amazing island has completely won us over, allowing us to tour some of the most impressive places in the country and giving the agents the opportunity to experience first-hand the luxury and comfort that Uga Escapes properties can offer their clients. With a perfect blend of adventure, nature, culture and relaxation, this trip has demonstrated why Sri Lanka, in addition to being a life-changing experience, is one of the most in-demand destinations for demanding travelers to explore.
