Today we dive into the exoticism of Thailand, the “land of smiles”… and of dream beaches, infinitely friendly people, vibrant cities, Buddhist temples and possibly the best shopping in Asia. This paradise is also a paradise for lovers of luxury, as evidenced by the two extraordinary properties that we at Oahsis Consulting bring to you: Six Senses Samui and Six Senses Yao Noi.
Just an hour’s flight from Bangkok, on the island of Samui, our Six Senses Samui resort enjoys a unique panoramic view over the Gulf of Thailand. It has 67 comfortable villas, of which 60 have a private infinity pool to disconnect from the routine with maximum privacy. Two of these villas stand out, the Ocean Retreat and the Beach Reserve. Both have two bedrooms with dressing rooms, indoor and outdoor showers, and a 40 square metre infinity pool, in the case of the Beach Reserve with direct access to the beach. Extraordinary!
As for the gastronomic offer, there are many options to choose from, but our favourite is Dining on the Rocks. This multi-award-winning signature cuisine restaurant stands out not only for its carefully selected menu, but also for its exceptional service and beautiful architecture of aged teak and bamboo terraces, which will immediately make you surrender to the charm of Samui!
We conclude our tour of the hotel with a stop at the Six Senses Spa. Its open-air treatment rooms blend into the landscape and turn any treatment into an experience of indescribable wellness. They are administered by qualified therapists who use naturally sourced and responsibly produced products for their holistic and traditional massages and rituals.
Samui’s scenery is an inspiration to the senses, so we recommend that in addition to enjoying the variety of activities at the resort, guests should not miss the opportunity to explore the island, by car or on foot, and enjoy its unparalleled natural beauty. For diving enthusiasts, a visit to the Ang Thong National Marine Park is also a must.
We now jump to Phang Nga Bay, between Phuket and Krabi, where our second property in Thailand, Six Senses Yao Noi, is located. Modern design is echoed in its concept, recreated from local materials, wood and bamboo, which give shape to 56 comfortable and spacious villas from which to enjoy fabulous sunrises and sunsets.
Gourmet guests will appreciate the two premium villas, The View and The Ocean Retreat, measuring 225 square metres and 500 square metres respectively. Both offer spectacular views of the karst hummocks of the splendid Phang Nga Bay and a private pool to relax in absolute privacy.
The Six Senses out of the ordinary philosophy is evident in every corner of this magnificent resort. The villas vary slightly in their amenities, but all offer a unique experience, from the Beachfront Pool Villa Suite, with its private garden and pathway leading directly to the beach, to the Ocean Panorama Pool Villas, with 180-degree ocean views and private outdoor terrace.
Thai cuisine, with international touches, is another of Six Senses Yao Noi’s strengths. It is a seasonal cuisine, with fresh and home-grown ingredients, which will delight foodies willing to let their stomachs be conquered. Its most exclusive restaurant, The Hilltop, is highly recommended.
As is the norm at Six Senses establishments, the Spa does not disappoint. Built in a lush area of tropical vegetation, it offers several different interconnected spaces and a wide range of treatments designed to relax body and mind.
As you can see, our two resorts in Thailand condense the essence of luxury, privacy and disconnection. Combined with the infinite number of experiences offered by the destination, they are perfect for moments you will remember forever.
